Napplied vs Workday Recruiting

Workday spans recruiting, AI candidate scoring, and conversational AI. Napplied is a layer, not a replacement: structured interviews and explainable ranking for AI, security, and governance roles.

How to choose

Why Napplied

Choose Napplied if

Workday Recruiting is quoted with an HCM subscription, and HiredScore and Paradox are often separate. Napplied is a usage-based or base subscription layer on the system you already keep.

  • You need a same-criteria evaluation for specialist roles, with a trail.

Choose Workday Recruiting if

  • You want one vendor for requisitions, approvals, HR data, and the recruiting AI already in the Workday suite.
  • Your roles are well served by that suite’s scoring and conversational tools.

Use both if

  • Workday stays the record system. Napplied handles search, screen, interview, and rank for selected requisitions.

Workday is the record system. Evaluation is a layer.

Napplied’s model is to sit inside the ATS you already pay for, so a Workday investment stays in place.

Workday quotes Recruiting with an HCM subscription, by employee count and modules. Figures circulating online mostly come from competing vendors and disagree, so none is repeated here.

AI inside a suite still needs an answer to why.

HiredScore scoring and Paradox conversation are part of Workday’s suite. This page does not say Workday lacks AI.

The remaining question is whether a specialist role’s rank can be opened: question, answer, criterion. That is the trail Napplied keeps.

Measured

70% of hiring managers trust AI to help them decide faster or better. Only 8% of job seekers call the outcome fair. Greenhouse surveyed more than 4,100 people. Greenhouse 2025 AI in Hiring Report, 19 Nov 2025

Verified 2026-10-01.

Suite consolidation raises the stakes of the layer you add.

Workday completed the Paradox acquisition on 1 October 2025 and groups it with HiredScore and Workday Recruiting.

Buyers then choose depth inside the suite, a specialist layer, or both. Napplied is the specialist layer. It does not speculate on Workday’s roadmap.

Workday’s screen and rank marks refer to HiredScore-style scoring, and interview marks refer to Paradox scheduling and conversation. They are not a claim about a same-criteria AI interview. Napplied works inside your ATS. It does not replace it.

Pricing

Workday Recruiting

Custom pricing

Workday does not publish Recruiting prices. It is licensed with a Workday HCM subscription and quoted by employee count and modules; HiredScore and Paradox capabilities are typically licensed separately. Figures online conflict and mostly come from competing vendors, so none is shown. Workday site, checked 8 Oct 2026

No Workday figure is shown. Full HCM contracts make a module price hard to isolate.

Where Workday Recruiting is stronger

One system for HR data and recruiting

Workday holds the worker record, approvals, and recruiting together. Napplied does not offer payroll, HCM, or offer management.

AI already in the suite

HiredScore and Paradox extend Workday’s own AI. If those tools cover your roles, you may not need another layer. Napplied is for the requisitions where you still need a same-criteria interview trail.

Procurement for existing Workday customers

Adding a module inside a signed suite is often simpler than introducing a new vendor. Napplied is worth it when the evaluation gap is specific, not when you want one throat to choke for all of HR.

Is this you?

  • You run Workday and need deeper evaluation on a few role families, not a new platform.
  • You cannot trace a ranking back to questions, answers, and criteria.
  • Specialist roles take too many scarce engineer hours to interview.
  • Adding modules means a long renewal, and you want published Napplied plans instead.
  • Your HCM owns the record, and you want specialist evaluation on top.
  • Compliance asks how AI influenced the shortlist.

Questions buyers ask

Is Napplied an alternative to Workday Recruiting?

No. Workday stays the system of record. Napplied is an evaluation layer for selected roles.

How is Napplied different from HiredScore and Paradox?

HiredScore scores candidates and Paradox handles conversational screening and scheduling inside Workday. Napplied runs a structured interview against the same criteria and keeps a reviewable trail for specialist roles.

How does pricing compare?

Napplied publishes flexible usage-based or base subscription pricing on /employer/pricing. Workday Recruiting is quoted with an HCM subscription, and HiredScore and Paradox are typically separate line items. Workday does not publish a module price.

Does Napplied integrate with Workday?

It is designed to work alongside Workday without a migration. Ask which connections are live for your tenant before you plan a rollout.

Do I need to migrate?

No. Napplied is built so the ATS you have remains the record.

How we compare

Every page has a section on where the other product is stronger. Cells we have not sourced say “Not confirmed” instead of a convenient no.

A Measured or Published chip means a named third party or the vendor’s own page. A Vendor-reported chip is the vendor’s own claim about its product or customers, which we have not audited. A Custom pricing chip means the vendor does not publish prices. A Buyer-reported chip is not a list price. A Modeled chip is an internal projection, not an independently measured Napplied result.

Napplied does not sell coding tests, proctoring, payroll, or campus recruiting, so those categories are not compared here.
