AI Interviews

Napplied vs Paradox

A fast reply does not tell you who can do the job. Napplied runs a structured interview against the same criteria for every candidate and keeps a reviewable trail. Paradox has been part of Workday since 1 October 2025.

How to choose

Why Napplied

Choose Napplied if

Paradox is quoted, often beside Workday. Napplied publishes usage-based or base subscription pricing you can weigh against the roles you expect to close.

  • Your bottleneck is evaluating specialist candidates consistently, not answering candidate questions.
  • You want an auditable interview record for AI, security, AI-safety, or governance roles.

Choose Paradox if

  • You need high-volume conversational intake, candidate FAQs, and interview scheduling, especially if you already run Workday.
  • Your hiring is frontline and high volume, which is the motion Workday described when it acquired Paradox.

Use both if

  • Conversational intake can still feed people into a structured evaluation. Ask us how candidates should move from your ATS into Napplied.

A conversation is not an evaluation.

Conversational assistants are built for responsiveness and logistics: questions, scheduling, and status.

Evaluation needs the same criteria applied to every candidate, and a record of how they answered. That is a different stage, not a criticism of chat.

Where does the evidence live?

Napplied’s trail is the question, the answer, and the criterion it was evaluated against.

Chat logs can show that a conversation happened. They are not, by themselves, a comparable evaluation of two candidates for the same role.

Measured

Only 26% of job applicants trust AI to fairly evaluate them. Gartner press release, 31 Jul 2025

The buying decision changed when Workday bought Paradox.

Workday completed the acquisition on 1 October 2025 and described Recruiting, HiredScore, and Paradox as one AI talent-acquisition suite.

Napplied is designed to sit inside the ATS you already run, including Workday, rather than asking you to add another suite. Ask which Workday connections are live.

What you get back

What Paradox is built to return

Paradox describes Olivia as a conversational assistant for screening by chat or text, interview scheduling, and a conversational ATS, and also lists video interviewing, offers, and onboarding. Workday sells it within its talent-acquisition suite. Confirm what your contract includes.

Where Paradox is stronger

Responsiveness at high volume

Workday bought Paradox for conversational screening and scheduling, especially in frontline hiring. If candidates need instant answers and a booked slot, that is Paradox’s job.

Suite integration for Workday customers

If Workday is already your system of record, Paradox arrives inside that commercial relationship. Napplied does not replace Workday.

Is this you?

  • Candidates get instant replies, and you still cannot tell who is qualified.
  • Scheduling is automated, and evaluation still happens in spreadsheets.
  • You hire specialist AI and security talent, not hourly high volume.
  • You want a decision record, not only a chat log.
  • You want an evaluation layer without deepening suite lock-in.
  • Your ATS is fine. The evaluation layer is not.

Questions buyers ask

Is Napplied an alternative to Paradox?

Only for evaluation. Paradox addresses conversational intake and scheduling. Napplied addresses structured interviews and ranking. They are different stages.

How is Napplied different from Paradox?

Paradox is a conversational candidate-experience agent, now inside Workday. Napplied runs a structured AI interview against the same criteria and keeps a reviewable trail.

Is Paradox part of Workday now?

Yes. Workday announced the deal in August 2025, completed the acquisition on 1 October 2025, and described Paradox alongside HiredScore and Workday Recruiting. Confirm how it is packaged in your contract.

How does pricing compare?

Napplied publishes flexible usage-based or base subscription pricing on /employer/pricing. Paradox does not publish prices and may be sold with Workday. Compare a Workday or Paradox quote with the roles you expect to close on Napplied.

Can I use Napplied with Workday?

Napplied is designed to sit inside the ATS you run, including Workday, without a migration. Ask which Workday connections are live for your tenant.

How we compare

Every page has a section on where the other product is stronger. Cells we have not sourced say “Not confirmed” instead of a convenient no.

A Measured or Published chip means a named third party or the vendor’s own page. A Vendor-reported chip is the vendor’s own claim about its product or customers, which we have not audited. A Custom pricing chip means the vendor does not publish prices. A Buyer-reported chip is not a list price. A Modeled chip is an internal projection, not an independently measured Napplied result.

Napplied does not sell coding tests, proctoring, payroll, or campus recruiting, so those categories are not compared here.
